Call for works / proposals for KAUNAS PHOTO 2012 central exhibition "About Photography"

The 9th KAUNAS PHOTO festival launch week will be September 4-8, 2012.

The group exhibition "About Photography" will be in the heart of KAUNAS PHOTO festival 2012 program. It will open on September 6, 2012 at the most important venue for contemporary art in Kaunas, M.Žilinskas Art Gallery of the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum.

Artists and photographers regardless of their nationality, age, profile (professional: press photographers, conceptual artists, studio photographers, advanced amatures, scientists & scolars using photography) are invited to submit works on the theme of photography.

“Alpių istorija” užbaigia KAUNAS PHOTO 2011

Nors daugelis KAUNAS PHOTO 2011 parodų pasibaigė, džiaugiamės galėdami pakviesti fotografijos mylėtojus (galbūt darkart) pamatyti austrų fotografo Lois Hechenblaikner parodą “Alpių istorija”. Paroda veikė Kauno Kolegijos J.Vienožinskio Menų fakultete, ir dėl nenumatytų priežasčių turėjo baigtis anksčiau nei numatyta. Paroda dabar veikia K.Donelaičio g. 60 meno erdvėje I-V 8-17, VI 8-16 iki spalio 28 d

Žaliakalnio funikulieriaus 80-tajam jubiliejui skirtos parodos

Kauno Žaliakalnio funikulierius pasitinka aštuoniasdešimtąjį jubiliejų. Funikulieriaus auktštutinėjė stotelėje veikiančios F Galerijos aplinkoje jubiliejaus renginio, vykstančio rugsėjo 22 d. 15 val., ir būsimiems lanktytojams atvira paroda "Žaliakalnio funikulierius tada ir dabar", kurios autorius - galerijos iniciatorius ir vadovas Mindaugas Kavaliauskas. Tuo tarpu į funikulieriaus vagonėlius sugrįžo M.Kavaliausko, J.Palio ir A. Madzeliausko parengta paroda "...funikuli funikulia...", apžvelgianti Žaliakalnio funikulieriaus istoriją.

On August 26, 2011 Business Leaders' Centre (Kaunas) hall Elipsė was packed with 300 people for three hours, on the occasion of the fourth Photography Night of KAUNAS PHOTO 2011. The introductory part of the event was a presentation of a ling-term project by Steve Hart "Bronx Family album", carried out using good old fashioned slides. Later on, the main theme of the event took over the screens. KAUNAS PHOTO STAR 2011 portfolio competition participants, 57 photographers' work was projected and the winner announced in the end of the event.
