Andrzej Baturo was creating cycle “Drinking Poland” many years. In this cycle author paints dark scenes of public and everyday alcoholism using humour, sympathy, irony. Photographs made in various festivals, streets, alcohol shops.
As the Czech photographer Jindrich Streit created cycle about smoking, Andrzej Baturo analyses alcohol – as a cult, as a social inevitability, as a conformance sphere. Works of photographer tell us that alcohol is unavoidable part of entertainments, everyday life and carelees of social position. Sometimes alcohol puts to uncomfortable situation, sometimes it works as an imaginably lifebuoy or becomes a terminus.
