Art space of K.Donelaičio srt. 60 shows an exhibition "Take it or Leave it" of young Lithuanian photographers, all in their mid-twenties Mindaugas, Ažušilis, Eugenijus Barzdžius, Donatas Stankevičius, focusing on social insights of today’s youth in Lithuania. The historic Žaliakalnis funicular, marking its 80th anniversary this year, can take you from the centre of Kaunas to funicular’s upper station, where F Galerija (Aušros str. 6) is based and showing works of Märten Kross (Estonia) from series "Floating dreams". In the exhibition, dreams and material life seem to be naturally bound together by the proximity of the sea. From August 25, 5 PM to October 09, 2011.

 

 

 

The oldest art school in town, Kaunas College, J.Vienožinskis’ Art Faculty (A. Mackevičiaus str. 27). is hosting an exhibition of  Lois Hechenblaikner (Austria) "Off Piste. Alpine story", tracing the dramatic lifestyle transformations of the Alpine Austria, changing from rural areas to crowdy skiing resorts. From August 25 to September 30, 2011.
 

 

 

Kaunas Botanical garden (Ž. E. Žilibero str. 6) shows an outdoor exhibiton in the park and  an indoor exhibitoon in the manor of Borut Peterlin (Slovenia) "Flower Power", in photographs of which real powers are given to the flora, leaving the rulers of this world in the backstage. From August  27, 12 AM (midday) to September 30, 2011.

 

 

Office of Pilotas.lt architecture portal (Kurpių str. 29) weclomes to exhibition “9/11 before an after. Pesonal stories” of Steve Hart, Brooklyn based photographer who was assigned by the New York Times to depict the 9/11 from Brooklyn side. The pictures were never published. In this exhibition they are accompanied by daily images of Brooklyn - New York snapshots before and after 9/11.  From August 26, 6 PM to September 30, 2011.

Kaunas House of Artists (V.Putvinskio st. 56) is hosting an exhibition of Swiss photographer Christian Lutz "Tropical Gift" about the life of white people working in oil and gas business in Nigeria. From August 29, 5 PM to September 23.

Kaunas Castle encircles an exhibition of pieces from the growing collection of KAUNAS PHOTO festival. Kazimieras Linkevičius, Darius Kuzmickas, Ramūnas Danisevičius, Mindaugo Kavaliausko, Reiner Riedler (Austria), Graham Miller (Australia), Marco Ambrosi (Italy), André Wagner (Germany), Ernie Button (USA), Esteban Pastorino Diaz (Argentina), Fred Lebain (France), Michael Gray (Australia), Rafal Siderski (Poland) and other photographers will be represented by one picture.
