“The persons on photos are people very close to me. The Main person is my grandfayther, for whom we have been his company in "white & black" days of his last yeares, months and days.
My mother, with everybody`s help, was taking care of him till last day. We all witnessed how slowly going away old man, dominated our life. We all tried to do our best, though we were not perfect, to make "going away" process as comfortable as possible; among close people.
Taking these photos I tried to be the witness, to be as close as possible to all importent events, which became the documents of every day life of my family. My grandfather died on 24th of Jannuary 2006, 91 years old”.
About Staszek Heyda (1983)
A fourth – year student at the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, involved with documentary photography and graphic design. He lives and works in Gliwice, Poland.
